Whale Shark Snorkeling Trip is A memorable overland trip from Lombok to Sumbawa Island for snorkeling with whale shark at Teluk Saleh.
The whale shark (Rhincodon typus) is a slow-moving, filter-feeding carpet shark and the largest known extant fish species. The largest confirmed individual had a length of 18.8 m (61.7 ft).[8] The whale shark holds many records for size in the animal kingdom, most notably being by far the most massive living non-mammalian animal. It is the sole member of the genus Rhincodon and the only extant member of the family Rhincodontidae, which belongs to the subclass Elasmobranchii in the class Chondrichthyes. Before 1984 it was classified as Rhiniodon into Rhinodontidae

Whale shark snorkeling trip departs in the morning from Lombok with a car and then cross by public ferry to Pototano harbor, the western side of Sumbawa island. From western side of Sumbawa island drive through coastline passing Alas City, Sumbawa Besar City and many fisherman villages to Labuan Jambu for overnight. Along the journey you will see beautiful sceneries of the landscape and natural view, villagers and beaches. Early morning on the following depart to Teluk Saleh by motorized outrigger wooden boat for about 2 hours. Spend 2 hours snorkeling to capture the best moment with the whale shark and then back Labuan Jambu. Check out hotel, driving back to Lombok. Arrive in Lombok around 6 PM.

Itinerary
Day 1: Hotel – Kayangan Port – Pototano port, Sumbawa – Labuan Jambu, stay overnight 
Pick up at your hotel (8 AM) and depart to Kayangan port by car about 2,5 hours drive.
From Kayangan port, continue by public ferry (2 hours) to Pototano, Sumbawa Barat and then continue drive through Sumbawa Besar regency to Labuan Jambu. En route, we stop at local restaurant for lunch. Arrive in Labuan Jambu, check in at your homestay and free of activities for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 2: Labuan Jambu – Teluk Saleh – Snorkeling – Labuan Jambu – Back to Lombok
At 04.00 am you will be picked up and head out with the motorized traditional boat to the Whale Shark point in Saleh Bay.  At 04.00 am you will be picked up and head out with the motorized boat to the Whale Shark point in Saleh Bay.  Arrive at 6 AM, it’s the time for you to enjoy swimming side by side with whale sharks, the ocean’s gentle giants.
At 08.00 Leave the Whale Shark Point, Back to Labuan Jambu. Check out the hotel and then proceed to Pototano port for public ferry to Kayangan port, Lombok. From Kayangan port continue drive to your hotel or your next destination. End of the program
