The Mount Rinjani Trek Via Torean is a four-day, three-night expedition to Mount Rinjani, commencing from Sembalun Village in the east and concluding in Torean Village. This journey includes an exploration of the summit of Mount Rinjani, Segara Anak Lake, Gua Susu, a hot spring, and a walk through Torean, offering views of the Penimbungan waterfall. This trip provides breathtaking vistas of the Mount Rinjani volcano, the caldera, and the smaller volcano visible from the crater. Participants will have the opportunity to visit a hot spring, explore a cave, and trek through a rainforest abundant with flora and fauna, as well as diverse vegetation and savanna, including the stunning Penimbungan waterfall. Itinerary

Day 01: Sembalun Village Entrance Gate (1150 M) – Sembalun Crater Rim (2639 M), overnight in a tent.

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the starting point located in Sembalun Village. The trek will take you through open savanna grassland to the campsite at Sembalun crater rim (2639 M). Throughout the journey, you will be treated to stunning views along the trekking paths, with breaks scheduled at the rest areas of Pos 1, Pos 2, Pos 3, and Pos 4. The total distance to be covered is 9 KM

06:00 Depart from the hotel and transfer to Sembalun Village (for those staying in the Senggigi or Mataram area).

08:30 Meet with the guide and porters and proceed with the check-in process.

09:00 Begin the hike, walking through the open savanna to Pos 1 (shelter/rest area).

10:30 Estimated arrival at Pos 1; take a 15-minute break before continuing to Pos 2 (shelter/rest area).

11:30 Estimated arrival at Pos 2; take a break and enjoy lunch.

12:30 After lunch, continue the ascent to the Sembalun crater rim, still traversing the open savanna grass. Rest stops will be made at Pos 3 and Pos 4 rest areas.

16:30 Estimated arrival at the Sembalun Crater rim campsite. Enter your tent, which has been set up by your porter, and store your belongings inside. Take in the views of the Sembalun crater rim, Segara Anak Lake, and the summit of Sangkareang.

18:30 Dinner will be served at the campsite.

Day 02: Sembalun Crater Rim (2639 M) – Rinjani Summit (3726 M) – Segara Anak Lake (2000M), overnight in a tent.

The summit ascent begins at 2 AM, traversing steep and loose sandy trails in temperatures ranging from 5 to 0 degrees Celsius. It is estimated that the hike will take approximately 3 hours to reach the summit. Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise at the peak for an hour before descending back to the campsite for breakfast and some rest. After breakfast, continue the descent from the Sembalun Crater Rim campsite to Segara Anak Lake. Arrive at the lake around lunchtime, settle into the tent, and store your belongings. It is now time to explore the lake and visit the hot springs.

01.30 Rise for a light breakfast, accompanied by tea or coffee.

02.00 Commence the ascent towards the summit of Mount Rinjani.

05.30 Arrive at the summit of Mount Rinjani, standing at 3726 meters, and relish the breathtaking view and sunrise from the peak.

07.00 Depart from the summit and begin the descent back to the campsite.

09.00 Reach the campsite, savor your breakfast, and take some time to rest.

12.00 Enjoy lunch at the Sembalun Crater campsite.

13.00 Depart from the Sembalun Crater Rim campsite and walk down to the lake.

15.30 Arrive at Segara Anak Lake, situated at 2000 meters.

16.30 Proceed to the hot spring located near the lake.

18.30 Have dinner at the Lake Campsite and retire to your tent for the night.

Day 03: Segara Anak Lake (2000 M) – Cave (Gua Susu) – Savanna Propok Crater Rim (2600 M), overnight in a tent.

Begin your day by appreciating the morning scenery at Segara Anak Lake. Following breakfast, depart from the lake and proceed to the cave (Gua Susu) where you will have the opportunity to explore the cave and visit another hot spring for rejuvenation. After your exploration, ascend to the Savanna Propok Crater Rim Campsite to set up camp and spend the night in a tent.

Day 04: Savanna Propok Crater Rim (2600 M) – Torean Village (600 M)

After having breakfast, set off from the Propok Crater Rim and walk down to Torean village. The initial segment consists of a one-hour walk through open savanna fields, followed by a trek through dense tropical forest. During the descent, you will be treated to stunning views of the Penimbungan waterfall, and the sounds of wildlife, including birds, monkeys, deer, and insects, will accompany you along the forest trails. Rest stops will be made at the designated areas of Pos 3, Pos 2, Pos Extra, and Pos 1. The total estimated walking time is approximately 7 hours over a distance of 9 KM.

13:00 After lunch, proceed to walk down to Torean Village
